Video: World War III Breaks Out In French Rugby Game

French rugby games are often noted for brawls breaking out. Or is it that brawls are noted for the odd French rugby game breaking out? We’re not too sure anymore.

What we do know is that during the match between Romans (USRP) and Aubenas (RCAV) in Federale 1, which is two tiers below the Top 14, an almighty scuffle erupted. It got so out of hand that even when red cards were brandished, the dismissed players were still having a go at each other.

The crowd of 3,500 bore witness to an almighty riot, and it is a wonder that the game resumed afterwards.

This fight was simply brutal. We don’t envy the referee for having to control it.
