It probably wasn’t the most difficult of tasks to search for highlights of Sam Burgess’ time in rugby union, leaving the sport after just one year away from rugby league.
It’s emerged following the news that Burgess was to return to the South Sydney Rabbitohs that family reasons were behind his decision.
Although this is of course a huge consideration for any player, his decision to return to the southern hemisphere was likely only helped by the negative press he’s received from day one since being included in the England Rugby World Cup squad.
His impact on the big stage did not do much to help his cause but it has still come as a shock to most that he will be returning so swiftly to the NRL.
However, Burgess did join rugby union for a reason, let’s not forget, and here are some of his best moments during his short stint in the sport.
