Leinster dug deep to win a dour derby at the RDS last night, beating Ulster 8-3. The Dublin 4 outfit had a poor start to their European campaign, with losses to Wasps and Bath, but got back to winning ways after a stubborn defensive performance last night.
However, undoubtedly moment of the night in a poor game from an aesthetics point of view was Nick Williams’ massive fend on Rhys Ruddock.
The Ulster number 8 moved forward with the ball, and sent the Ireland international backwards not once, but twice.

It is not often that Ruddock is so comprehensively outmuscled, but the Ireland flanker certainly met his match last night at the RDS.
Nonetheless, Leo Cullen’s side will be relieved to be back to winning ways.
One thing is for sure, if Nick Williams was running after us, we’d get out of there, and fast.
