Albi’s Timilai Rokoduru hit Dax’s Martin Prat like a freight train.
In front of 3,300 spectators on Friday night, Dax and Albi played out a fairly mundane 12 all draw.
With Dax looking to avoid relegation into the French third tier and Albi chasing a play-off spot, neither side would have been happy coming off the field.
However the result was overshadowed by Timilai Rokoduru hit on Dax’s Martin Prat in the 14th minute. Chasing a box kick, the Fijian winger hit Prat just after the fullback caught the ball.
Such was the impact, that the players in the immediate vicinity of the collision immediately stopped playing and began calling for the respective medical teams to come onto the field.
Surprisingly Prat was the first player to come to his feet wearing a neck brace. Rokoduru however was carried off the field on a stretcher.
