Toulon To Replace Leigh Halfpenny With Japanese Star

Toulon are set to lose Leigh Halfpenny this summer.

With Welsh full back, Leigh Halfpenny, set to leave Toulon this summer, the French giants are looking into the possibility of signing Japanese star, Ayumu Goromaru.

Goromaru earned a move to the Queensland Reds on the back of his performances at the World Cup, particularly his part in Japan’s historic victory over South Africa.

Nevertheless, the full back only signed until the end of the 2016 Super Rugby season and could as a result earn a lucrative move to Toulon according to Rugbyrama.

Indeed the French rugby site has claimed that doubt surrounding Delon Armitage’s contractual situation could see Mourad Boudjellal’s team move for¬†Goromaru.
