RC Toulon are aggressively recruiting some big names in world rugby as they bid to return to the top of the European ranks following a poor season this term. The latest to be added to their squad of superstars is Argentina international Facundo Isa.
According to the RC Toulon website, Isa will rejoin the club at the end of the season when his current contract with Argentinian side Jaguares runs out.
After only one appearance for the club, the then 20-year-old left in 2014 to return to his native country to play for Pampas XV, before switching to Jaguares in 2016.
Gaining experience in the Super Rugby arena, Isa has cut his teeth against some of the best club sides the southern hemisphere has to offer and now returns to France as a far more potent weapon than when he left.
Now aged 23, the 25-times capped Argentina international, who operates at No. 8, will link up with new signings Chris Ashton, Raphael Lakafia, Semi Radradra, Hugo Bonneval and Filipo Nakosi, who all join the club this summer.
Only on Thursday was it announced that Toulon owner Mourad Boudjellal had awarded a one-year contract extension to former All Black Ma’a Nonu, so the announcement of Isa’s arrival only further emphasises the owner’s quest to bring back the glory of the past few seasons.
