Top 14 Players Ali Williams And James O’Connor Arrested Over Alleged Cocaine Possession

Top 14 side Racing 92, along with European giants Toulon, have become embroiled in yet another drugs controversy as former All Black Ali Williams and Australia international James O’Connor have reportedly been arrested in Paris for allegedly possessing cocaine.

According to L’Equipe, plainclothes police officers arrested the pair outside a nightclub near the Arc de Triomphe in the early hours of Saturday morning, after they were spotted reportedly purchasing the drug from dealers.

Williams, 35, moved to France and Toulon in 2013 before switching to Racing 92. O’Connor, 26, has been with Toulon since 2015, his fifth club of his relatively short career.

News of the arrest will come as a blow to both players and their respective club. Racing 92 are currently working to shake free of recent doping investigations that centre around Dan Carter, Joe Rokocoko and Juan Imhoff. Further negative press, this time in relation to alleged recreational drug use, will not be looked on favourably by the club.
