The Barbarians have named the first four members of their squad for November’s internationals against South Africa, Fiji and the Czech Republic with Wallabies trio Taqele Naiyaravo, Wycliff Palu and Will Skelton joined by World Cup winning scrum-half Andy Ellis in the squad.
The Baa Baas, who will be coached by former Wallabies coach Robbie Deand and former England centre Will Greenwood, will take on the Springboks at Wembley Stadium on November 5 before heading to Prague to take on the Czech Republic on November 8 before returning to the UK to face Fiji at the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast on November 11.
Australia No.8 Palu and lock Skelton will become Barbarians No. 4,995 and 4,996 respectively when they make their debuts for the club with coaches Robbie Deans and Will Greenwood to invite more players to join the squad over the coming weeks; as the world famous invitation club prepares for its 126th season in international rugby.
The Barbarians are chasing a hat-trick of victories against the Springboks after a 26-20 win in 2010 and a 22-5 success against the newly-crowned World Cup winners in 2007.
Australia’s Drew Mitchell scored two tries for the Barbarians in a 26-20 win at Twickenham the last time they met in 2010.
