Dave Gantly remembers some of the best tries of last season’s Heineken Cup.
With the future of the Heineken Cup very much in doubt, for this week’s Throwback Thursday we have decided to look back at some of the best tries to grace the illustrious competition last season. With the English and French clubs looking to break away from the competition and form a new look tournament, Irish provinces have been left in limbo. Negotiations are ongoing in the hope the Heineken Cup may be saved but it is looking increasingly unlikely. The English and French clubs have decided to pull out as they want a greater representation, a new improved format and for a transfer of the ERC’s governance base which is located in Dublin.
This writer certainly hopes this famous competition will not come to an end and I’m sure many rugby fans around the world will agree.
