This week’s TBT looks at the highlights of the explosive 2011/12 Heineken Cup.
For this weeks Throwback Thursday, in anticipation of the Heineken Cup returning tomorrow night, we look back at the 2011/2012 season highlights. What a memorable season it was. From Munster’s famous forty one phase’s of play to Leinster’s irresistible style of attacking rugby, It was a fine season of European rugby. Indeed, It was a Jonathan Sexton lead Leinster who became only the fifth side to win the competition more than once after a hard fought 33-22 win over Northampton. With no Sexton for Leinster his time around and with Munster now without the services of Ronan O’Gara, it promises to be an intriguing competition for the respective provinces.
No doubt this famous competition will show what will be missed if it is to be no more.
First up tomorrow night is Connacht vs Saracens at the Sportsground and Ulster vs Leicester at Ravenhill.
Not a bad way to begin proceedings.
