TBT: That George North Try

This week’s TBT moment remembers one of the all-time great Lions trys; George North’s solo effort against the Wallabies.

With the summer now over, for this week’s Throwback Thursday we decided to look back at one of the highlights from this summer’s rugby. One of the great Lions tries. George North’s world-class solo effort in the second test against the Wallabies. In the 25th minute, The Lions were trailing the Aussies by 7 – 3 after a superb try by scrumhalf Will Genia. What followed will forever be remembered by Lions fans. North picked the ball out of the sky in his own half, accelerated at lightning speed down the left-wing and used his superb footwork to beat numerous Aussie players to touch down for an unforgettable try. As if he hadn’t already, North had announced himself on the world stage.

Similar acts of brilliance in New Zealand in 2017 will do just nicely.
