Taqele Naiyaravoro Proves You Don’t Need Pace When You’ve Got Power

Unfortunately for Naiyaravoro the Warratahs succumbed to defeat against the Western Force, but a great try is a great try all the same.

Naiyaravoro goes full beat mode evading three tacklers who literally bounce off him, as well as one further last ditch attempt as he powers over the line. The league turned Union player is yet to be capped by Fiji but is apparently hoping for a Wallabies call up instead. In a further twist the Fijian is set to head to the Northern Hemisphere where he’ll be playing for Edinburgh. Three years in Scotland would make eligible for selection with the Scots, so who knows where we’ll see Naiyaravoro playing his international Rugby.

Either way, appreciate the raw power he exerts as a winger. Proving that in today’s game as players get bigger across the field, winger’s just don’t need pace anymore if they’re built like Naiyaravoro. Then again, being built like Naiyaravoro is easier said than done…
