Stuart Lancaster has been spotted coaching with the Stormers.
Despite stepping down as England coach in the wake of their disastrous World Cup campaign, many retain a high regard for Stuart Lancaster.
Indeed, despite his ultimate failure, some commentators have called on the RFU to give Lancaster a role in developing both talent and the game in England.
Nevertheless, despite a rumoured approach from Japan, the former England coach remains out of work.
However, Afrikaans news outlet, Netwerk 24, have reported that Lancaster has been spotted coaching at the Stormers High Performance Centre in Bellville yesterday.
Although the report states that it is unclear whether or not Lancaster has been given a role within the set up, or for how long he will be in Cape Town, given the fact that Robbie Fleck was only appointed coach of the Stormers on an interim basis, it opens up an intriguing possibility.
Although Fleck was backs coach with the Stormers for the past number of seasons, his only experience as head coach came with the Western Province’s under 21 side last year.
As a result, there remains the possibility of Lancaster making a return in some role in Super Rugby. Certainly an interesting prospect.
