Allister Coetzee will be looking for a backlash against Ireland.
Springbok coach, Allister Coetzee, has made five changes to South Africa’s match day squad ahead of their crucial second test with Ireland.
However, despite receiving a great deal of criticism following their defeat against 14 man Ireland, Coetzee has only made two changes to his starting XV, and both of them have been forced upon him.
Following his well publicised concussion after finding himself at the end of CJ Stander’s controversial challenge, Pat Lambie has been replaced by Elton Jantjies.
While Pieter-Steph du Toit has been included in the second row after Lood de Jager picked up a calf strain against Ireland.
Lions duo, Franco Mostert and Ruan Combrinck come onto the bench alongside Morne Steyn, who was added to the squad as cover at fly half.
Despite the nature of the defeat to Ireland, Coetzee was not tempted to make further changes, telling Sport 24,
We spoke hard and were very frank in our assessment of last week’s performance.
The Springboks are capable of executing the fundamentals of the game much better and that’s what we will set out do on Saturday. We know Ireland will come with a real desire to clinch the series, however, we must be ready to confront them and put ourselves into a position to succeed.
