Wasps could be on the verge of losing one their locks.
Although it has been rumoured for a number of weeks, it now looks as if Bradley Davies will join the Ospreys this summer. While a deal has not yet been done, Wales Online have reported that talks are at an advanced stage.
The Welsh news site understand that the 54 times capped Welsh international has been
offered a dual contract form the Welsh Rugby Union and the Ospreys. Nevertheless, as Davies has a year to run on his Wasps contract, the WRU and the Ospreys may have to pay the Coventry club a significant amount of compensation.
This would appear to be a particularly large stumbling block, as the Cardiff Blues were previously put off by Wasps’ demand for £150,000 in compensation.
Despite this, Wales Online believe a deal is close to being announced, even discussing the potential of a second row partnership of Alun Wyn Jones and Davies.
Indeed, in the article containing the news, Simon Thomas lists a possible Ospreys XV that might take the field next season.
