Scotland Confirm Summer Tour For June 2018

It has been announced that Scotland will tour USA and Canada in June 2018. The Scots will be travelling to Australia this coming summer without their top players who will be on Lions duty, so the following June will be seen as an easier challenge.

They will play one test against each side.

The Scots last played USA in the Rugby World Cup in England, when they ran out convincing winners on a scoreline of 39-16. Vern Cotter’s side would go on to qualify from the pool stages, before bowing out to Australia under┬ácontroversial circumstances in the quarter-final.

They met Canada in 2014, when they narrowly triumphed by two points.

This will give head coach Gregor Townsend a real opportunity to blood in new talent after his maiden Six Nations campaign.

This is a boost to rugby in North America, as the professional league struggles for popularity. However, big international games, which have included visits from the All Blacks, have drawn crowds.
