The Scarlets have named their team for Friday night’s massive Champions Cup quarter-final clash with La Rochelle at Parc y Scarlets.
Wales internationals Ken Owens, Rob Evans, Gareth Davies, Hadleigh Parkes and Leigh Halfpenny as well as Scotland captain John Barclay all return after having been rested for last weekend’s 19-10 defeat to Munster at Thomond Park.
Versatile Australian back Paul Asquith moves from the centre to the wing with Wayne Pivac naming six forwards and two backs on the bench.
It is the first time that the Scarlets have qualified for the knockout stages of European Rugby’s Premier event since 2007 when they went down to Leicester 33-17 at the then known Walkers Stadium.
The Scarlets also become the first Welsh team to reach the knockout stages of the European Cup since 2012 when the Blues lost 34-3 to Leinster in the quarter-final.
