Reigning European champions Saracens have announced the re-signing of huge Wallabies lock Will Skelton, who will link back up with the English club at the end of the Super Rugby season.
Having made eight appearances for the Premiership champions earlier this season during a two-month stay, Skelton has, according to a statement released on the Saracens’ official website, signed a two-year deal with the London club.
According to the statement, director of rugby Mark McCall is more than pleased with the signing of the 24-year-old.
“We’re absolutely delighted that Will is returning.
“In a very short space of time here his contribution to the side was superb, he showed a real appetite to improve his game and he was very popular among all the players and staff.
“There’s still so much more to come from him, which is incredibly exciting for us as he is already a proven international player so we’re looking forward to welcoming him back later this year.”
Skelton has made 18 appearances for Australia but will now turn his back on his national side as he looks to make an impact in Europe, with arguably the top team on the continent.
The addition of the massive 6’8″ lock will certainly go a long way to ensuring Saracens remain on top of the pile for the foreseeable future.
