Despite being sacked by the Leicester Tigers, Richard Cockerill remains a man in demand.
Within days of leaving Welford Road, the 46-year-old was on a plane to the south of France where he joined Mike Ford at Toulon. However, given that Cockerill was only employed on a short term contract at the Stade Mayol, there had been much speculation over his future.
Indeed, although many anticipated Cockerill taking over at the Worcester Warriors at the end of the season, it now appears as though he will join Edinburgh once his contract expires.
According to the Rugby Paper, the Scottish side made Cockerill their number one target after he was relieved of his position by the Tigers’ hierarchy last January.
If Cockerill does move to Myreside, it would represent a coup for the struggling Pro12 outfit who now firmly sit in the shadow cast by the Glasgow Warriors.
