Ref From 1995 World Cup Final Analyses His Own Performance

Ed Morrison recounts a day that went down in infamy from a perspective we’d never really thought, the referee’s.

Referees, huh, we only think of them when they do something wrong. Ed Morrison was the lucky, or unlucky, depending on how you look at it, man in charge on that fateful day in 1995. While the day is now synonymous with the Jumbo Jet, Mandela and a nation united, Ed remembers it for some rather different reasons.

Of course the players were under immense pressure, but you never really think of the ref do you. Ed Morrison was clearly unprepared for a torrent of exposure that would come his way once his announcement as match official was made.

A nice little short from World Rugby as they continue to ramp up coverage of all things World Cup ahead of September.
