Quiz: How Well Do You Remember The Lions Team From The 2009 Second Test?

Yesterday we asked you to name the Lions team Warren Gatland picked for the 2013 second Test in Australia where the Wallabies ran out 16-15 winners.

Evidently, it was far too easy with 17% of you getting full marks while over half got at least 11/15. Geoff Parling proved to be a sticking point for most with many forgetting Paul O’Connell picking up an injury in the first Test.

So today we want to challenge you a bit more by harking back to 2009 and Pretoria’s Lotus Versfeld. The Springboks had already won the first encounter 21-16. One week later, an unforgettable Morn√© Steyn penalty from inside his own half saw the hosts put the series to bed thanks to a 28-25 win.

It was one of the most devastating defeats for the Lions in recent memory with Ian McGeechan’s side 19-8 clear with an hour gone and seemingly cruising towards an impressive win that would set up a tantalising final Test. Tries from Bryan Habana and Jaque Fourie turned the game on its head before Steyn completed the comeback.

But how well do you remember that day and the Tourists’ starting XV? Try our quiz below.

Anything over 13 here is just some sort of sorcery, to be honest.
