Premiership: Three Signings That Could Happen In January

We have already seen three very big Premiership transfers at this early stage in January. Saracens secured a move for Liam Williams, Sam Underhill has joined Bath and, most recently, Matt Kvesic has secured a move to Exeter.

Here are three more moves we could see materialise over the coming weeks.

________

Finn Russell (Glasgow to Bath)

The Scotland fly-half, who has been linked with two French sides as well as Gloucester and the aforementioned Bath (via the BBC), has been on fire in the Champions Cup, even showing up the once extraordinary Dan Carter.

His attacking game is outstanding. He has quick feet and a very varied handling game with good timing to release dangerous runners. He could thrive with the likes of Jonathan Joseph, Semesa Rokoduguni and Anthony Watson outside him.

Russell is also a workhorse in defence, his work rate makes him very difficult to get past and his strength and agility make him useful in trying to force a quick turnover.

________

Nic Stirzaker (Rebels to Saracens)

Talk of this has been flying around, and if this move was to happen the speculation is that current Saracens scrum-half, Richard Wigglesworth, would head to France.

Stirzaker is a very dangerous attacker around the fringes and his game management make him a really valuable asset.

Saracens could do a lot worse than the Rebels scrum-half. He has international pedigree that is essential for a team of Saracens’ ability.

________

Gareth Anscombe (Cardiff to Worcester)

The Wales international has seen his career stall over the past season or so and a new challenge may invigorate the fullback. Rumours abound now that Worcester may come in for him, according to Ruck.co.uk.

It’s no secret Worcester are building a formidable squad with the likes of Ben Te’o, Francois Hougaard and Chris Pennell all very strong players in their respective positions.

Anscombe’s ability to play at fly-half could be a draw for Carl Hogg as that is one position Worcester could do with solving. Anscombe’s kicking game could give the Warriors another dimension. (via Fissler)

_______

Lots of moves are likely to be confirmed until the season ends in May, these three are certainly on the cards.

If they will happen is now down to their respective clubs.
