Connacht’s Tiernan O’Halloran has been cleared to return to playing after a citing hearing against him was dismissed on Thursday.
The Ireland international full-back had been cited for an incident towards the end of last week’s Pro14 clash with Ospreys, in which O’Hallroan was alleged to have made contact with the eye area of Jeff Hassler, in what would have been a violation of law 9.12.
It seems after O’Halloran makes the tackle on Hassler, he goes for the poach but his hand brushes against the player’s face – hard to determine if contact to the eye was made and if so, whether it was deliberate. pic.twitter.com/4MMCzsRFkc

Having gathered together in Glasgow to review the footage and spoken to O’Halloran via video conference, the all-Scottish disciplinary panel have decided that the 27-year-old should not face any further action and has been cleared to return to the side for Connacht’s Pro14 fixture against Conference A leaders Glasgow Warriors on Friday night.
The province have endured a frustrating campaign in the competition this season, winning six of their 19 fixtures thus far.
