Nigel Owens was at his very best during Northampton vs Montpellier.
Montpellier were defeated by Northampton on Saturday in the European Champions Cup, after a tight battle in Franklin’s Gardens. Stephen Myler landed a late penalty to give the English side the victory, but not all his kicks were so straightforward.
In the first half, as he attempted a conversion following the Premiership side’s opening try, Francois Steyn was charging down the kick.

The South African decided to shout ‘miss’ as Myler took the kick, which veered to the left.
The crowd was quick to jeer the Montpellier out-half. Nigel Owens was far from impressed.

Fair play to Owens, who made the correct call on the issue. There is no place in rugby football for such behaviour.
