Munster Rugby Announce Signing Of Two Returning Irish Stars

Munster Rugby have today confirmed the signing of former academy player Darren O’Shea and former Ireland A tighthead prop John Andress.

O’Shea, a 6ft 9in second row, plays for Premiership outfit Worcester Warriors. The 23 year-old is a product of the Munster academy, and has represented Munster A in the past. He returns to the province having helped Worcester to promotion to the Premiership, and has excelled this season.

He has made 27 appearances for the English club.

It was also announced that John Andress will join the province. The Ulster native has enjoyed a professional career in England for the most part, representing Exeter, Harlequins and Worcester. In the summer of 2014, he joined Edinburgh.

The 32-year-old has made 48 appearances for the Scottish club.

He has been capped for Ireland at U21 and A level.

This news today comes as a boost to Munster, who face Leinster in the Aviva Stadium on Saturday, knowing that they must win in order to bolster their play-off hopes. Leinster won the last meeting between the sides at Thomond Park at Christmas time.
