Mike Ross’ international career looks to the be over, but the tighthead prop is still doing a job for Leinster in the absence of Tadhg Furlong. The 37-year-old anchored the Irish scrum effectively in the years after John Hayes’ retirement and helped Leinster to European glory.
While he was well regarded as a world class scrummager, he was never noted for his work with ball-in-hand.
During Leinster’s clash with the Dragons over the weekend, Ross was standing as first receiver, and pinned his ears back to blitz past the opposition defence and run for almost 40 years.

Not too bad for a 20 stone tighthead prop! Ross was quick to drink in the praise.
56′ just when you think you’ve seen it all 20 yard break from @MikeRoss03 who is just on #NGDvLEI (10-28)
