Munster Rugby is riding the crest of a wave, after a dominant win over Racing 92 on Saturday saw their rich run of form continue. Rassie Erasmus’ side dominated last year’s finalists to put themselves in pole position to reach the quarter-finals of the European Champions Cup.

There are signs that the Irish side are getting back to their very best, and threatening to hit the heights of last decade. In order to do this, there are suggestions that perhaps they will need to strengthen their squad.

According to a report in Midi Olimpique, they will bring James Hart along with Chris Farrell to Thomond Park next season.

25-year-old Hart hails from Dublin but has been plying his trade in France since joining Grenoble in 2011. The scrum-half has been linked with a move back to Ireland for some time now, with Leinster also touted as a possible destination.

However, this could be a move that makes sense for both parties as Munster seem light in that department once Conor Murray is taken out of the equation.

Hart will also be eager to return to his native country in order to enter the conversation of international selection, improving his chances of impressing Joe Schmidt.

Munster could be quite busy on the transfer front in the coming months, with rumours also linking Ben Smith with a move to the Irish province.
