Leinster Name Exciting Team For Interpro Clash With Ulster

Leo Cullen has unveiled a youthful team to play Ulster.

After some of Leinster’s more experienced players were found wanting against both Wasps and Bath, Leo Cullen has reacted by selecting an exciting and youthful line up for tomorrow night’s clash with Ulster.

After scoring a try on his Champions Cup debut, Josh van der Flier starts at open side flanker, and is joined by Rhys Ruddock and Jamie Heaslip in the back row. Jack McGrath is selected at loose head ahead of Cian Healy, while Mike McCarthy comes in to replace Hayden Triggs.

However it is in the backs where Leinster look most exciting, with Luke McGrath partnering Johnny Sexton at half back, and Ian Madigan joining Ben Te’o in midfield. The back three is composed of Luke Fitzgerald, Zane Kirchner and Rob Kearney.

While many have wanted to see Madigan play outside of Sexton, the inclusion of McGrath at scrum half will see the duo fed quick ball.

Nevertheless, some would have liked to have seen Gary Ringrose picked at 13.
