Joe Schmidt Names Strong Ireland Side To Take On England

Ireland coach, Joe Schmidt, has named a strong Irish team to face England.

After England arguably named their strongest possible line up to face Ireland on Saturday, Joe Schmidt has followed suit. The Irish coach has made seven changes to the side that lost to Wales, as Schmidt looks to win in Twickenham.

After impressing against Scotland, Simon Zebo once more starts at full back and will be partnered by Tommy Bowe and Dave Kearney in the back three. Robbie Henshaw and Jared Payne will further establish their midfield partnership, while Conor Murray joins Johnny Sexton at half back.

Upfront there is no room for Cian Healy, as Jack McGrath plays at loosehead, with Rory Best and Mike Ross froming the front row. The second row will see Paul O’Connell partnering Devon Toner, while Ireland will deploy their first choice back row of Peter O’Mahony, Sean O’Brien and Jamie Heaslip.
