Ireland head coach Joe Schmidt has named his Ireland squad for the summer clashes with USA and Japan.
Hampered by the absence of the 11 players on Lions duty, Schmidt has the opportunity to experiment, and give a chance to younger players to prove themselves on the international stage.
It is clear from the squad he has selected today that this will very much be the case.
James Ryan is yet to play a competitive game for Leinster, but makes the squad.
Darren Sweetnam is the most controversial omission.

Rory Scannell, Jacob Stockdale, Rory O’Loughlin and John Cooney are the uncapped players in the backs.
Meanwhile, Ryan, Dave Heffernan, Andrew Porter and Kieran Treadwell are the forwards called up and in with a chance of making their first appearance in the green shirt.
