JJ Hanrahan made his home debut for the Northampton Saints today.
Former Munster outhalf, JJ Hanrahan, made his home debut for the Northampton Saints today, with the crowd at Franklin’s Gardens more than willing to extend a warm welcome to the Kerryman.
Hanrahan’s exit from Munster proved to be a hugely controversial affair, with confusion surrounding the entire transfer.
In any event, Hanrahan now finds himself plying his trade in the Aviva Premiership with the Northampton Saints. Indeed he has clearly making an impact with his new club, with incumbent Saints playmaker, Stephen Myler, telling the Northampton Chronicle,
He’s obviously a very good player coming from Munster and he can play 10 or 12.
We have that variety with Luther (Burrell) and JJ being able to play 12 and it gives a different set of eyes outside of me, which we perhaps haven’t had in recent years.
Although the Saints lost 12-6 today, Hanrahan is fast becoming a fans favourite, with an eight year old supporter inviting him to his birthday.
