Jean de Villiers Set To Return Following Horrific Injury

Jean de Villiers will return from the horrific injury he sustained against Wales last November

Unbelievably Jean de Villiers will return for South Africa this weekend after being selected on the bench to play against a World XV. Last November de Villiers tore his hamstring along with his anterior, posterior cruciate knee ligaments and dislocated his knee cap, during South Africa’s 12-6 defeat to Wales.

The nature of the injury led many to believe that the South African Captain never to play again. However after six operations, including implanting artificial knee ligaments, de Villiers looks set to challenge for a position on South Africa’s World Cup squad.

His inspiring come back is the subject of a three part documentary. The first two are available below, while we will have to wait until September 3 before the final instalment.
