Joe Schmidt has unveiled the Irish squad ahead of the summer tour of South Africa.
Joe Schmidt has named a number of uncapped players in his 32 man Irish squad to tour South Africa this summer.
Although Ulster’s Sean Reidy and Connacht’s Quinn Roux have been included in the touring party, there is no place for rising Leinster star Gary Ringrose. The exclusion of the centre was not the only surprise, with Tommy O’Donnell, Ian Madigan and Stuart McCloskey all being left at home.
The omissions are surprising, particularly as Ireland are set to be without a number of experienced players such as, Cian Healy, Nathan White, Josh van der Flier, Peter O’Mahony, Sean O’Brien, Tommy Bowe, and Simon Zebo.
