After a joke mocking England’s early Rugby World Cup exit took off on Reddit last week, an excellent follow up is now making waves after the weekend’s action.
Last week, rugby fans around the world cruelly wallowed in England’s early World Cup exit. Several jokes were posted online and it seemed as if England’s closest neighbours were most keen to rub salt in English wounds.
A Welsh fan already composed a hilarious advert edit which ripped Chris Robshaw apart for (in hindsight) a slightly embarrassing pre-tournament advert claiming the English ‘always back themselves at home’.
However, it now seems that those who were previously pointing fingers have had the tables turned on them. The quarter finals of the Rugby World Cup saw the remaining nations from the British Isles dumped out of the competition as Ireland, Wales and Scotland were all defeated.
Last week, one particular joke took off on Reddit that effectively celebrated and laughed at England’s early exit. Check it out below:
Well, although the joke initially seemed hilarious and bang on point, in hindsight, it seems that the bar in question would now be a little more crowded.
Taking the obvious opportunity to hit back at the above pop, one sharp Reddit user posted the following picture today and it’s risen to the very top of Reddit Rugby. Check out the hilarious picture below.
The Scots looked set to be the only Northern Hemisphere team left in the quarter finals after an awesome display against Australia. However, a last minute penalty saw victory snatched from them at the death and, as the clever reddit user is pointing out above, although they were there slightly longer than the others, they inevitably were sent to the loser bar with the English, Irish and Welsh.
