George North Yet To Decide Where His Future Lies

The future of the Lions winger remains uncertain.

In the aftermath of last nights game between the Northampton Saints and the Scarlets, talk quickly moved onto the future of George North.

With the Welsh Rugby Union in confident mood after convincing Jonathan Davies to return to the Scarlets, their attention is now turning to the Lions star.

Wales Online reported that both the WRU and the Scarlets aim to unite Davies with North and Leigh Halfpenny in an all star back line that would also contain Scott Williams, Liam Williams, the Cardiff Blues fly half Rhys Patchell and World Cup sensation Gareth Davies.

While such a back line would be match for most European sides, the ambitious plan could have already been scuppered after Saints boss, Jim Mallinder, told Wales Online that ‘We are very, very confident that George will stay here’

Nevertheless with Mallinder in the running for the England job, the WRU may yet be able to take advantage of any uncertainty at the Saints.
