Gy Noves is banking on flair overcoming England’s power in Twickenham, after selecting a side filled with attacking intent for Le Crunch.
In what is seen as a surprise move, Baptiste Serin has been selected at scrum-half ahead of Maxime Machenaud, and will join the in-form Clermont fly-half, Camille Lopez in the half-backs.
With Wesley Fofana ruled out with injury, Gaël Fickou partners Rémi Lamerat in midfield, with Virimi Vakatawa, Noa Nakaitaci and Scott Spedding making up the back three. The pre-tournament injury sustained by Eddy Ben Arous has created space for Cyril Baille at loose head, who partners Guilhem Guirado and Uini Atonio in a potent front row.
Sébastien Vahaamahina and Yoann Maestri form the second row combination, with Damien Chouly and Kévin Gourdon packing down either side of Louis Picamoles at number eight.
