Five Of The Biggest Giant Slaying Tries In Rugby World Cup History

73 Days and counting, if you couldn’t tell already we’re a little over excited and still have a long way to go. So time for some more blasts from the past.

World Rugby have been fuelling our excitement for what feels like forever with a constant stream of videos on their YouTube channel covering previous World Cups gone by.

This time their focusing on those giant slaying tries we all love a World Cup for.

Of course we all know one Try is above all the best and it’s that time Bryan Habana got roasted by Takudzwa Ngwenya.

We do have one slight issue with the video, Romania as a Giant? Really? That was the only match Romania won in the 1987 World Cup despite that Zimbabwe Try. Granted, they had a strong side under the Communists in the 1980s but still by no means a giant. So yeah, they weren’t a giant World Rugby! Surely  some other worthy candidates could have made the cut. Georgia vs Ireland, Portugal vs The All-Blacks?

Either way, lets hope for some more giant slaying come the RWC!
