All Five New Zealand Super Rugby Franchises Unveil Lush New Kits Ahead Of Lions Tour

Super Rugby Final - Hurricanes v Highlanders

The building sense of excitement ahead of this summer’s British and Irish Lions tour is not only confined to the home nations.

While rugby fans in the northern hemisphere slept in their beds last night, all five of New Zealand’s Super Rugby franchises launched special edition kits ahead of the upcoming British and Irish Lions tour.

On first viewing, Adidas have provided each franchise with very colourful jerseys, and include features that are unique to the various teams.

All five shirts include vintage map patterns of the New Zealand territories they represent, and also include the unique grid co-ordinates of each franchises’ home ground on the left sleeve.

On the neckline of the Hurricanes jersey are the words “E Ngunguru Nei” are embroidered, while the Highlanders have “Pride of the South” inserted onto theirs.

Although Lions fans will wear their team’s colours with pride in New Zealand, we’re pretty sure some will look enviously upon what their opponents have at their disposal.
