Fans Go Ballistic At The Referees Decision To Award Munster A Penalty Try

Fans were united in their condemnation of the referee.

With Connacht in control of their inter provincial clash with Munster, the referee elected to award Munster a penalty try and send John Muldoon to the sin bin.

The decision of Ben Whitehouse was derided by fans, many of whom believed that while Muldoon should have been binned for the early tackle, a penalty try should not have been awarded.

The decision was so strange that even normally partisan Munster fans were puzzled by it, but ultimately did not affect the historic result.
