Everyone Has The Exact Same Problem With The New Irish Jersey

Ireland’s new rugby jersey was released this morning and will be worn during their November series, next year’s Six Nations and the summer tour.

The design is undeniably brilliant with the darker shade of green on the shoulders particularly appealing to most but it’s certainly not without its faults.

Despite the slick appearance, most people on Twitter are bemoaning the Vodafone logo it bears. The red interior of the company’s emblem catches the eye more than the iconic green and, most feel, detracts from the jersey as a whole.

As is mentioned, the team’s training gear boasts a far more subtle logo and benefits hugely as a result.

Joe Schmidt’s side likely won’t be donning the new strip against the Springboks on November 11th as World Rugby’s rules insist the home team must change kit if there is, like in this instance, a clash. So due to South Africa’s famous green and gold, the new gear will have to wait for its debut.

Fiji and Argentina will also travel to Landsdowne Road in the autumn and the hosts will be lining out in green for both games. Three wins from three is no insurmountable task and could see Schmidt’s charges rise significantly in the world rankings.
