Is This The England Saxons XV That Should Tour South Africa

Leicester Tigers v Gloucester Rugby - Aviva Premiership

It has been suggested that the England Saxons will tour South Africa this summer.

Although the RFU have yet to confirm that the England Saxons will tour South Africa this summer, many rugby commentators are expecting an announcement in the near future.

If such a tour does in fact take place, it will give a number of players on the fringes on the England squad the opportunity to state their case for inclusion in the senior side.

Indeed, given that a number of the players who were involved in England’s recent success at the World Under 20 Championships are now beginning to make a breakthrough, any Saxons tour would serve to further their development.

Therefore, while the Saxons could be used by coaches to cast an eye over the likes of 19 year old Sam Underhill, the likes of Danny Cipriani could also be included so as to allow the talented fly half underline his case for inclusion in the senior squad.
