The England Saxons have named an experienced line up for their clash with South Africa ‘A’.
England Saxons coach, Ali Hepher, has named a XV packed with international experience for Friday’s clash with South Africa ‘A’ in Bloemfontein.
As expected, Danny Cipriani starts at fly half in a side captained by Bath’s Dave Attwood. In total, the team includes over 60 caps worth of international experience, with the likes of Kieran Brookes and Matt Kvesic selected from the start.
Ollie Devoto and Tommy Taylor, who both came off the bench during England’s recent win over Wales, have also been selected at inside centre and hooker respectively.
Although Hepher will be looking to win the two match series, he did stress the goal was to develope ‘the players, which is key to this tour, and we now want to see how they perform on the international stage’.
We want to see a team that doesn’t hold back, that is fearless in the way it puts itself out there, but is also very accurate, playing smart rugby with or without the ball.
The first test will kick in Bloemfontein at 6:10 pm, with the subsequent fixture scheduled to be played on Friday 17 June.
