England coach Eddie Jones has named a 28 man squad to train at Pennyhill Park this week in preparation for the game against Italy on 26th February.
The 23 from the victory over Wales are included, as well as Teimana Harrison, the uncapped Mike Williams, Exeter Chiefs’ playmaker Henry Slade, and the returning duo of stalwarts Anthony Watson and Mako Vunipola, both now recovered from their respective injuries.
Mako’s brother Billy will meet up with the squad during the week for a medical review, with the England coaches hopeful the number eight wrecking ball could still feature in the final Six Nations test against Ireland.
With Jones having previously spoken of his desire to experiment against a team that has conceded 96 points in two games and scored just 17, some fans will be keeping their fingers crossed to see some of the second stringers feature this coming weekend.
