South Africa have named their squad for the upcoming November tests, and Duane Vermeulen has been excluded.
An official statement on South Africa Rugby’s website read that the Toulon captain has been omitted due to his poor physical condition.
“It was decided that his conditioning is not up to international standard since his recent return from injury.”
Otherwise, head coach Allister Coetzee has named a strong squad. Following a disappointing Rugby Championship campaign in which they suffered a record home defeat to New Zealand, the Springboks will be looking to end their season on a high note.
