Donncha O’Callaghan Named Worcester Warriors’ Player Of The Season

Donncha O’Callaghan has been awarded Worcester Warriors’ player of the season, adding to his already impressive trophy collection.  

The much loved former Munster and Ireland lock has proved a massive success since joining the English Aviva Premiership side in 2015 and has recently been rewarded with a contract extension for the upcoming 2017/18 season.

O’Callaghan who also won the fans player of the season accolade has been referred to by Warriors director of rugby Gary Gold as a “phenomenon”. Something which signifies the impact the 38 year old cork man has made since his arrival at the club. Proving an integral part in the Warriors’ change of fortune in the second half of the season.

The newly appointed captain of the premiership side has a wealth of experience with 94 International caps and Lions tours in 2005 and 2009 under his belt, matched with two Heineken cups and Three Celtic Leagues over a 17 year period whilst at his beloved home province of Munster in which he achieved 268 appearances. He is certainly showing he still competitive in the game, a testament to how the player has looked after himself on and off the field throughout his career.
