Former Munster player Donnacha O’Callaghan appeared on TV3’s Clubhouse on Tuesday night and certainly did not disappoint.
The Thomond cult hero, now plying his trade in England with the Worcester Warriors in the Aviva Premiership, had the live audience and presenter Joe Molloy in hysterics when expressing how the generation gap between himself and his teammates is affecting him.
O’Callaghan claims that he is akin to an old man with his “pipe and slippers” compared to his younger fellow Warriors who can’t take their head out of “Snapchat” and “WhatsApp” the moment they are afforded a break from training.
The lock proceeded to spill the beans on his roomie, Matt Cox, labeling the forward a “predator on Tinder” before diving head first in to a story about how Cox tried to persuade him to come on a double date with himself and a Dublin girl who was in the locality for The Cheltenham Festival. Cox insisted that O’ Callaghan was “an awful wingman”, completely missing the point that O’ Callaghan has a wife and four kids at home.
Donnacha also rather hilariously referred to his teammate as a ’24-year-old single’ when in reality, Cox turned 29 earlier this month. Check out O’Callaghan’s brilliant delivery while recounting his experiences with his Tinder-savvy housemate below.
