Brian O’Driscoll is pessimistic about the chances of the Irish provinces in Europe.
Speaking on BT Sports Rugby Tonight, Brian O’Driscoll described the situation in which the Irish provinces now find themselves as ‘concerning’.
The early rounds of this year’s European Rugby Champions Cup have seen both Leinster and Ulster succumb to defeats, while despite earning a four try bonus point against Treviso, Munster were far from impressive in their opening game.
In contrast to the struggles of the Irish sides, Aviva Premiership teams have impressed, with Wasps in particular gaining massive wins over Leinster and Toulon.
O’Driscoll has blamed the decline on the inability of the provinces to attract the talent they once did from the southern hemisphere.
