Australian Winger Being Lined Up To Replace Zane Kirchner At Leinster

After missing out on Israel Dagg, according to the Irish Independent, Leinster are now chasing 116 times capped Australian international, Adam Ashley-Cooper.

The winger is set to be released by Bordeaux Begles once his contract expires next summer and has also been linked with moved to London Irish and Japanese side Kintetsu.

Following his move to Bordeaux Begles after the 2015 World Cup, the 33-year-old has fallen out of favour with Michael Cheika, with the Australian coach opting for likes of Taqele Naiyaravoro and Dane Haylett-Petty instead.

Although the Independent didn’t offer many other details, the news comes as a bit of a surprise as Leinster have the likes of David Kearney, Fergus McFadden, Adam Byrne and Isa Nacewa at their disposal. Indeed, given their pursuit of Israel Dagg, it appeared as though the Irish side were chasing a full-back as opposed to a wing.

Nevertheless, having previously registered an interest in Ashley-Cooper four years ago, Leinster might yet get their man.
