Australia And New Zealand Name Sides For Second Bledisloe Cup Clash

Australia v New Zealand

The Wallabies will be looking to restore some pride this weekend.

As was widely reported yesterday, Michael Cheika has selected Quade Cooper to start against the All Blacks after the Wallabies were thumped 42-8 last weekend.

Although many anticipated Cooper staring at inside centre, he has been handed the number 10 jersey with Bernard Foley playing alongside at 12.

Nevertheless, Cooper’s selection as the Wallabies’ chief playmaker will see the mercurial fly half once again link up with Will Genia at scrum half, a partnership that proved fruitful in the past.

After their line out fell asunder last week, Michael Cheika has replaced Rob Simmons with Adam Coleman in the second row, with Kane Douglas completing the combination. Tevita Kuridrani’s poor performance against the All Blacks also see him lose out, with Samu Kerevi replacing the Brumbies centre at 13.

Meanwhile, after an impressive season with the Chiefs, Steve Hansen has handed Anton Lienert-Brown his debut at inside centre for the All Blacks, replacing the injured Ryan Crotty. Elsewhere, Joe Moody comes in at loosehead, while Julian Savea is also recalled despite his inconsistent form.
