Ireland risk losing some of their biggest stars next summer.
With the World Cup having come to a conclusion, another four year tournament cycle has begun for Ireland. As a result, the contracts for many of their star players have come up for renewal.
The IRFU will have to ask whether or not it is worthwhile to hand contracts to some of Ireland’s ageing players, while also fend off interest in the likes of Simon Zebo and Ian Madigan from abroad.
Although Ireland have been successful in keeping their best talent at home, the likes of Racing have successful raided Leinster for Johnny Sexton in the past. Indeed, the IRFU will now have to also have to keep cash rich English clubs at bay.
